VENUS BERNARDO is a Los Angeles based photographer specializing in fine art, art-style documentary (including events) and people photography. Her work surpasses normal distinction. Although she received her photography education at Santa Monica College in California, she credits her talents and ability to "see" intuitively to The Creator. She also expresses her appreciation of having been inspired by the masters including Henri-Cartier Bresson, Ruth Bernhard and Gordon Parks.

She began her photography career in photojournalism joining the Sentinel newspaper in Los Angeles as photographer and photo editor in 1995. Later she made her way through the ranks of red-carpet photographers, shooting celebrities and Hollywood-type special events. Her most famous photograph, which continues to be published worldwide is that of famed-rapper Notorious BIG and Sean "P-Diddy " Combs, taken 5 minutes before BIG was killed in Los Angeles. She had a role as the photographer (playing herself) in famed rapper Nas's video Got Ur Self, where the night of killing was re-enacted. In 2007 she became a WireImage photographer. She has also been published in Architectural Digest, Newsweek, Vibe, Essence and several other print and television media worldwide. While she continues to shoot celebrity, corporate and major community events, she has turned her eye towards fine art as a primary concentration.

"Photography is an expression of my natural born spirit. My spirit is art, beauty, love, compassion, passion, abstract, deep, wonder, wonder, wonder wonder wonder....DISCOVERY.....wonder.."
